There is a legend about this plant, dating back to the Middle Ages. A knight plucked a bunch of forget-me-nots to offer it to his beloved, but fell into the water while doing so and sank, dragged down by the weight of his armour. Before drowning, he quickly threw the flowers to the princess, shouting to her: 《Don't forget me!》.

Therefore, forget-me-nots have a strong symbolic value. The flower is synonymous with fidelity and eternal love.
